School and Community Garden, Hawkshaw

The aim of the projects is to create a safe and attractive place for children and the people of Hawkshaw to spend time. The local primary school, St Mary’s CEP, will lead the project to develop a small area of the recreation ground (owned by Bury Municipal and Borough Council) as an outdoor learning space and community garden.
The area will be drained and fenced and the gate to the field will be unlocked after school hours. The garden will include paviers, benches, stepping stones and balancing posts. Flower beds will be planted to encourage wildlife.
