This project aims to restore an existing pond known to support great crested newts and create a further two new ponds and two additional scrapes (temporary ponds that enhance habitat and breeding opportunities for wildlife whilst new ponds are becoming established) close by. This will provide a cluster of ponds suitable for great crested newts, helping to protect and increase the great crested newt population at Muiravonside.
