Seacroft Methodist Church – ChapELFM

Seacroft Methodist Chapel will be renovated as a live broadcast studio space and arts venue in East Leeds. The interior will be converted to training rooms, performance space, edit and broadcasting rooms. The renovation, as far as possible, will retain the character and some of the acoustic quality of the existing building. The original windows will be replaced with modern high quality triple glazed windows that would follow very closely the original timber frame pattern and size. The proposals make good use of the existing space with low key insertions of partition walling and glazing that fits comfortably inside the existing fabric. Whilst the pews and pulpit would be removed on the ground floor the upper floor would remain largely intact. The refurbishment includes the addition of a kitchen and toilet facilities.
