Seaton Park Wetland Project

The aim of this project is to create a wetland area in Seaton Park to improve biodiversity and sustainably manage flooding in the park. Areas that regularly flood will be managed through the creation of a wetland area for wildlife, helping to improve access where flooding occurs, creating a diversity of interest at the park, plus, future proofing the park as a result of climate change. Seaton Park is situated in an area of Aberdeen identified as a priority/regeneration area. The area scored very low on biodiversity in the Council’s Open Space Audit (2010) which can have negative effects and contribute to overall poor quality of life for residents in the area.
