Securing and Enhancing Balls Wood

To purchase Balls Wood and Hobbyhorse Wood (58.7 hectares) from the Forestry Commission in order to preserve and enhance them for wildlife and to ensure public access into the future. To deliver significant biodiversity benefits by providing an opportunity for species to spread from neighbouring woods.
The project has two phases:
1. Purchase of Balls Wood and Hobbyhorse Wood to secure them in perpetuity.
2. Habitat restoration, access improvements, interpretation and community engagement across the East Hertfordshire’s Woods area.

Landfill support is sought at this stage for Phase 1
