Securing the Future of South Shields and Westoe Club

Contribution towards the installation of a new squash court roof which has deteriorated. Works will include: removal of ivy to prevent damage to new roof, removal of parapet wall to allow installation of new structure, repositioning of existing lights and equipment as appropriate, removal of extractor fans plus bricking up, construction and installation of new roof with suitable weather proof covering, gutters, facia and sofits. Includes: materials, safety equipment (cherry picker, scaffolding), waste removal and making good. A new roof will secure the future of the squash section, attract new members, add capacity to run free camps for disadvantaged young people, and make courts available for community use eg yoga sessions. Additionally, a properly insulated roof will reduce heating costs and energy waste.
