Sensory and Wellness Garden

An accessible community sensory garden will be created in the outdoor space at this dedicated, safe and secure centre for children with SEN and multiple and complex disabilities. A calm space where SEN children can relax and enjoy the surroundings with visual, auditory, and tactile stimulation will be offered. Elements used will stimulate the senses to provide much-needed therapy for children with autism or other developmental disorders. Expenditure will include: Groundworks, Wooden Panelling, Soft Padding for Flooring, Materials, Removal of wooden shed and large tree, Sensory garden equipment, and Lights. The garden will encourage physical activity, provide opportunities for movement, exploration, and play, which can promote gross motor skills, coordination, and balance. Social connections and support networks to be formed in an inclusive space where SEN children and the public can come together to encourage social interaction, understanding, and empathy among individuals of differing abilities.
