Shapwick and Polden Cricket Club Ground Development Project

The overall project involves replacement of our cricket pavilion and associated parking (phase 1) provision of new practice nets (phase 2) and a second changing facility (phase 3). Phase 1. The current pavilion (changing facilities and social space) was built by club members in the early 1970s. It is now showing its age and is well short of current standards as required by the games national body the ECB. We therefore seek to replace this with a facility that will not only be suitable for supporting cricket in our area now and in the future but will also be appropriate for, and available to, the wider community to access for use at all times when cricket is not being played. Car parking associated with use of the ground is an important issue. In conjunction with planners we have addressed this by formalising the parking layout around the new clubhouse and creating a second ground access and parking area in the south-east corner of the ground.
