Shepton Mallet Market Cross – Repairs

The cross has been in situ since the 16th century and is a scheduled ancient monument and Grade 2 listed. Over the last thirty years there has been minimal maintenance of the cross. It is now obvious that repairs and restoration are required. The roof requires repair, including new lead and timbers. The stonework needs partial replacement, with re pointing required.
