Sherman Building Capital Redevelopment

To transform a tired, dilapidated theatre building into a fit for purpose arts venue. The majority of the project will be to extensively refurbish the existing structure, with one element of new build which will become an extra rehearsal space. The new Sherman Building will house the work of Sherman Cymru and visiting companies. Sherman Cymrus projects include productions in both Welsh and English, an extensive Learning and Engagement Team working with young people and refugees and asylum seekers, and a Literary Team working with writers and developing new writing. The new building will benefit participants and audience alike, improving the experiences that individuals from the local community have at Sherman. The improvements that take place front of house, in the foyer will result in wider use from the community as it will become a ‘nice environment’ to meet friends at all times of the day and evening, regardless of the activities in the two performance spaces
