Projects / Sickley Brook Filtration

Sickley Brook Filtration

Provision of reed beds, filter beds and separation pits to clean up the water in Sickley Brook which runs under the old coal pits and picks up pollutants. The stream feeds an environmental site developed some years ago and the intention is to encourage a greater variety of wildlife to the site by improving the quality of the water. The site is a public amenity, especially used by the local primary school (Bramley) and young persons club who volunteered to help with the work.
