Silent Pool Biodiversity and Access Improvements

We will treat the severe infestation of Crassula helmsii at Silent Pool, a Site of Nature Conservation Importance. Once removed, pond margins will be replanted with native species and pre-planted floating mats will be installed. Fencing will be constructed to prevent dogs entering the pond. Woodland works will be carried out to enhance the biodiversity of the surrounding habitat. Surveys and monitoring of the site will be carried out. We will improve access to and ensure safety of the site by improving pathways, reinforcing and stabilising banks, replacing boardwalks, reconstructing the causeway and removing dangerous and overhanging trees. We will install benches and update interpretation.

Underspend of £13,620 will be spent on various tree works.
