Silksworth Sports Complex Athletics Track Refurbishment

To refurbish Silksworth Sports Complex’s athletics track which is in need of replacing. Labosport, as part of a specialist track condition survey, recommend the following refurbishment option: Removal of the Track Surfacing and Replacing with New Track Surface. This method would involve removing the entire existing synthetic track surfacing layer and re-laying with a new porous system. When the existing surface is removed, an assessment of the existing macadam layer should be undertaken, to quantify any issues that require remedial works prior to installation of the new polymeric layer. Porous tracks are usually easier to remove with less damage undertaken, but it is usually good practice to seek a cost for remedial works to 1/6th of the macadam surface.
