Silverdale CC, Staffordshire – New Ground Cover and Sightscreen Purchase

The project is to fund the purchase two additional Sightscreens and one additional mobile roll on cover which are now a requirement of the North Staffordshire and South Cheshire Cricket League. Without the addition of the above equipment the club can not meet the requirement of the league and the club will be unable to compete at the current competitive level being forced to play in a much lower league.
Silverdale suffer from a lack of sports or recreational facilities and it has become clear through consultation that the community wants an accessible, good quality provision at the heart of their community.
One of the aims is to introduce cricket to children within Silverdale and nearby villages, whilst forging links with local schools and Universities. This will assist in promoting the game to a wider audience thus increasing participation, skills and encourage social cohesion. Providing these opportunities to play the game will therefore improve the health and well-being of users of the facility.
On this occasion the project doesn’t have an environmental impact, its solely to bring our facilities up to the required standard to able the sport to played at Silverdale Cricket Club at the highest level following changes in standards from North Staffs and South Cheshire Cricket League.
