Siston Common Wildflower Meadow Creation and Habitat Improvement Project, The Friends of Siston Common, Bristol

Siston Common contains some of the last remnants of species of rich unimproved grasslands on the east of fringe of Bristol, a densely populated area under substantial pressure from development for housing. Working with the local community, the project will expand this priority habitat by targeting improvements on the less ecologically rich north area of Siston Common through the creation of a new species-rich wildflower meadow, tree planting, and other associated habitat improvements. It will increase biodiversity and capture community interest, acting as a catalyst and high profile launchpad for wider habitat connectivity improvements across a larger proposed ‘Common Connections’ area.
