Skelton Grange waterways, flyways and byways

Skelton Grange waterways, flyways and byways.

The project would conserve, restore and enhance four ponds, ancient and younger hedgerow, grasslands, woodland and meadow that form a crucial link in the Lower Aire Valley corridor. The work would include specific planting to encourage and sustain a diverse range of flora and fauna and activity to disrupt succession to woodland on parts of the site to maintain it’s current diverse mosaic pattern and higher levels of biodiversity. BTCV will repair and maintain the fully accessible path network as part of managing the balance between public access and education and protection of the wildlife of the site. These work would support Pond, Hedgerow and River Environs Habitat Action Plans and enhance Urban Brownfield Mosaic Habitat as identified in Leeds City Council’s updated biodiversity actions plans.
