Skelton Grange Wild Area

Our site hosts 5000 visitors annually. We keep it as natural as possible as that is what visitors value, but must balance this with access. This means having wheelchair friendly pathways while maintaining the natural feel of the site and a varied mix of natural habitats for visitors to enjoy. Ours is often the most natural space children ever visit and forms their impression of the natural world. We use interesting art and play features on the site to sustain interest over sequential visits. To these ends we will: Work on our network of pathways ; mosaic a pathway junction; replace log seating ; manage our ponds, meadows and woodlands to optimise recreational value and control invasive species.
