Skerne Play Park Association

The group was formed to address the problem of a lack of play facilities in the village. The residents identified an area of land within the village suitable for a play area. The Parish Council shall support the initiative, maintaining the park and garden when completed. The association wishes to design a sensory garden within the recreation area. Local children will be involved in the design and planting, supervised by volunteers from other organisations. The garden will provide rewards including a therapeutic area for disadvantaged children/young people and people with sensory impairment. The project will also provide the children with a teaching and learning environment as they work on the project. Most of this project will provide an area where all members of the community can relax and provide a sense of fulfilment to all that work on it.
