SMC Building Development Fund

The aim of the project is to completely refurbish and improve the areas of our building (this does not include the actual worship area) which do not comply with current legislation. The object is to comply both with the current Health and Hygiene Regulations and the Disability Discrimination Act. A large part of our work involves supplying the elderly, the disabled, the disadvantage in society and those with psychological illnesses with meals and recreational facilities. A good part of our premises date back to the mid 1800’s with some additions in the 1930’s and early 1950’s. We need to straighten out corridors and change levels, comply with the DDA with regard to disabled access and create a new commercial kitchen. Our kitchen is very old and unhygienic and needs to be relocated to enable a new entrance to be formed. Our work amongst these people is vital. This application is for funding for a new fully fitted and equipped commercial kitchen.
