Smethwick - Warley Woods Drinking Fountain

Edwardian drinking fountain restoration and reinstatement as significant park feature. The project is to restore the fountain, which will require masonry repairs, the renewal of the granite dedication plaque, woodwork and roof tiling to create the Gothic canopy. It is also planned to improve the area around the fountain creating a paved and seating area and landscaping at the rear to create an attractive backdrop to the fountain. Whilst it is not advisable to make the fountain operate as a drinking fountain for the public again , it is hoped that it will be possible for water to run again into the base troughs to provide drinking water for the many dogs who are exercised on the meadow opposite the fountain
