Smithills Estate – restoring a degraded landscape

To acquire 192ha of land at the Smithills Estate, Bolton (known as Smithills East). This includes existing woodland and a wide variety of grassland habitats. By securing this land in to our ownership we will be able to protect and extend existing habitats, increasing their value for wildlife, improving biodiversity, linking habitats and enriching the landscape.
