Snapshots

The 2000 Strong Greek Cypriot community has made Cardiff its home for the past 50-60 years, by collecting photos and the stories behind them Snaphots will show how the Cypriot community has integrated into life in Cardiff, the collection will be made into a book using recycled papers and displayed in the new GCAW community centre, some of the photographs will be used as part of an installation to include a light fitting as well as placing the work on the internet on a website, the GCAW will work with graphic designers and local writers and artists to capture the Snapshots and what they mean to members of the Greek Cypriot Community and the way the second and third generation Cypriots are finding out about their heritage and roots, as part of the brief we will ask that as much recycled and different material is used during the project.
It is hoped that we will be able to show our work as part of an exhibition and we will be working with other bodies towards funding for this.
