SOCASP – Strengthening Our Communities At St Paul’s

The community facilities comprise a large hall with stage, a small hall capable of subdivision for breakout spaces, two kitchens, vestibule, cloakroom and toilets and car parks. Apart from two primary schools in the vicinity (which of course are unavailable to outside users during the day) there are no other buildings to meet the needs of this particular community for flexible meeting space. he halls suffer from two main problems: 1. Poor physical access from the car park to the halls for all people, particularly mothers with small children in pushchairs, and the elderly, not just those needing disabled access. This requires widened and better surfaced paths all round the building, particularly at the front.2.The lack of baby change facilities and a large single toilet to meet the needs of those less mobile. This requires an existing toilet and adjacent lobby to be enlarged and refurbished, and doors widened elsewhere within the building to improve internal access.
