Parbold village hall is operated by the Parbold Community Association and is an outstanding community and regional resource that this project aims to make affordable for all people and all users and therefore sustainable. The dramatic rise in the cost of energy threatens this long-term aim; the threat of climate change threatens all activity.
Parbold Community Association [PCA]’s income comes from users’ fees and rising energy costs threaten the sustainability of the hall’s community operation.
This project is a situation -changer because it installs an array of solar panels and storage batteries to benefit the total, long term operation. It changes the fees-costs spiral by enabling the hall’s own production of energy. It continues the progress toward the facility’s ‘greening’ and adds affordability and sustainability for all activities and all users to its existing attractiveness. It is estimated to reduce energy costs by 64.9% and suggests pay-back in 4.4 years.
