Solar System Installation

This project is to reduce the energy costs and carbon footprint by installing solar panels and a
battery at Mitcheldean Community Centre.

It will be a 10.4Kwp solar system with 20.7Kwh battery. In the summer it is designed to allow the centre to export some electricity to accrue credit towards the higher energy usage in the winter.

The project will have two benefits:

1) it will help reduce running costs by enabling production of the majority of the centre’s own electricity. By keeping expenditure as low as possible the aim is to keep charges at a minimum thereby helping to retain users.
2) the installer estimates that generating the centre’s own electricity will reduce its carbon footprint by a saving of two tonnes of CO2 per year.
