Solitude Park Maintenance

The funding is to introduce 2 part time wardens plus a van to improve and maintain facilities and landscapes within Solitude Park, which has recently been refurbished at a cost of over £2 million. Solitude Park was a well used resource by members of the public in the town of Banbridge. The park which had become unwelcoming has now been transformed into a safe and beautiful park that the public will have full access to during daylight hours. In order for the park to remain safe and welcoming to the public, park wardens would be a noticeable presence to deter any inappropriate behaviour. They would also keep the park clean, tidy and safe for the public to use fully. it would be hoped that the officers would also be a contact for the public who wish to find out more about the biodiversity.
A van would be purchased and used to transport materials and equipment needed to carry out project works.
