South Leigh Forest Restoration

There will be 45 trees planted at 10 to 12 m intervals.
Each tree will have a guard and stake, and volunteers will keep them watered and free from weeds.
They will all be visible along the road after a year or two as they will be planted on the field side of the hedge (see above). As they become established, they will provide an additional resources for animals, birds, beetles etc., reduce carbon dioxide pollution, as well as further beautify the area and re-instate the lost heritage of the village.
The new trees will be oak, wild cherry, hornbeam, field maple and other native species.
