South Littleton Nature Reserve

An opportunity has arisen to purchase a neglected area of land to the rear of houses off Station Road, South Littleton and to work with local residents to create a managed nature reserve. Part of the site will be fenced to allow grazing of livestock to aid management and access will be improved to allow local people to enjoy the area. The site is adjacent to a well used public right of way leading out of the village and so a permissive route will be created to link to the right of way around the site. Some of the overgrown areas will be managed to open up grassland for wildflowers and the scrub will be managed as wildlife habitat. Residents have been consulted and they welcome the chance to help with management of the site to improve it as a visual amenity and for its value to wildlife.
