South Lockleaze Playground, Bristol City Council (South Purdown)

This is a project to deliver a brand-new play area for the residents of South Lockleaze. There are many young children in the area, and other playgrounds are a long way away; too far for most families to walk so many drive. This space has had 1000s of trees planted this year, and areas left unmown to encourage wild flowers. It could be a beautiful space used by the community, and to build and enhance the community. There has been a lot of recent development in the area, and many feel the development has put pressures on the area without providing the necessary facilities. This park is very needed in the area. In recent years the area has seen an influx of young families. A local playground will provide much needed infrastructure. The new Morris Road housing development, and nearby future housing developments, will see more families moving in, adding to the need for a local playground.
