South Milford woods habitat creation and protection

We aim to clear the dead trees, open the woodland floor up by reducing the tree canopy, and reduce the number of Sycamore trees which provide dense cover for the woodland floor prohibiting wild flowers from growing underneath. We will also build dead hedges around the site perimeter and increase the biodiversity of the site by re-planting with a variety of native trees such as locally sourced cherry oak, oak, ash elm and others. We will create wild flower meadows where the open spaces are and install bird and bat boxes.
