South Ockendon Recreation Ground Car Park Extension

The improvements made to the bowls club (project 103 ), football club (116 ) and tennis courts (96) have helped increase the use of the recreation ground, to the extent that there is now insufficient parking on match days. The approach roads are extremely narrow, so there is no ‘off site’ overflow possible. This project will create a ‘grasscrete’ overflow car park from recycled plastic, which will only be opened on match days when needed, so that the intrusion on to the field is contained and kept to the minimum by new and existing railings.
