Square Lodge, Kirklees – Secret Garden (006249)

To build a nature reserve garden where the community can visit, bird watch and take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding valley. The garden is situated up a slight elevation and at the top hosts a small pond, called secret pond.

The aim is to encourage more visitors to the Kirklees Valley Heritage Trail so they can benefit from becoming more active and becoming more active participants in their community. The area identified as this project currently isn’t accessible, it will be developed as a wild life haven for more birds Reed Warblers, Great Tits, small owls and other farmland birds all of which are in around the surrounding areas. It will provide a special focus point for many to enjoy.

The platform around the secret pond will give access to pond dipping, the meadow of wild flowers will give added beauty whilst encouraging the wild life and the recycled pallet style seating gives rest to weary legs.
