St Andrew’s Church Cambois

The Church is open to all as a place of prayer and worship through its regular services on Sundays and Wednesdays, as well as baptisms and funerals etc. when required. It also has a hall attached that has regular social events. The children of the First School also use the church as an educational resource. It is one of the few public buildings left in Cambois, as well as being the site of the War Memorial and ‘Quiet Garden’.
The church has been suffering from a long-standing damp problem that has caused severe deterioration of internal paintwork and plaster. The outside of the church has now been pointed which has greatly reduced the penetration by damp. The funding will to cover the costs of repairing the plasterwork and applying stabilizer and paint to the internal walls. Unless the work is carried out soon the building will become dangerous, due to the falling of large lumps of plaster and unhealthy. Whilst the works are being carried out the services will be carried out in the church hall.
