St Andrews Church, Runcorn – Replacement roof and windows (007490)

St Andrews is a friendly 1960s Church of England Church in a very deprived area of Runcorn. It is a large, striking and much recognised local landmark. As well as a place of worship it provides much needed support and activities for the wider community and is used by a range of community groups. The architect’s Report (October 2020) identifies a number of urgent building issue to be addressed by this project. They are: Replacing roofs, facias and gutters and replacing high level windows which are impacted by the roof. This work will ensure the building is water tight and structurally sound, will bring the building in line with modern energy conservation requirements by introducing insulation and double glazing to the replaced windows. It will also improve financial sustainability by reducing running costs and generating more rental income from more groups using a fit for purpose building.
