St Bridget’s Old Church, Beckermet

This mediaeval structure is now in need of extensive repairs including work to the roof, rainwater goods, masonry, woodwork, windows, render and plaster and a major fund-raising effort is now underway to save this important historic building from further decline. Once repairs are completed, the church will be more amenable to a wider range of uses and will be made available for weddings and other ceremonies. Interpretation and further promotion will draw in more visitors building on existing interest from users of the route number 72 cycleway, genealogists and those with an interest in architecture etc.
