St Charles Community Garden

The aim of the project is to transform an underused space in the grounds of the St Charles Health and Well being Centre in the St Charles ward in the London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. St Charles is
to the north of the borough sandwiched between the railway lines to the north and the westway (main transport links in and out of London), to the south and to the east is Ladbroke Grove and Wormwood Scrubs to the west.
We plan to create a community garden which will include raised beds. This will ensure that the whole community will be able to take part in growing fruit and vegetables once the project is completed. By creating this space residents will develop a range of skills and knowledge from:
• practical growing skills,
• communication skills
• knowledge about various fruits and vegetables
• the growing seasons
• managing and maintaining food growing spaces
