St Cuthbert’s Church Hall Blyth

The aim of the facility is to provide an affordable facility for all members of the community, to ensure that this facility meets all regulatory requirements, to ensure the safety of all centre users, to maintain and improve these facilities and to secure the long-term future of the centre.
The church hall is requesting funding to cover the cost of replacing 26 leaded single-glazed windows with double-glazed PVCu units. This will greatly improve the thermal conductivity of the building, go some way to negate increased heating costs by using less energy, and allow the church hall to maintain its current low level of hire charges.
As the group has a policy on setting hire charges on an ability to pay basis, with some groups paying nothing, some paying nominal amounts and those who can generate income paying the full hire charges, this ensures that no community group is excluded. As a result, the money raised allows for the general upkeep of the hall but not for large one-off expenditures as is the case here.
