St Edmunds, Crofton Old Church - Roof Repairs

The exposed roof survey during 2006 identified the urgent need for specific roof timber repairs (eg strengthening rafter feet and bridles, straightening and replacement of some timbers and the replacement of defective lath and plaster ceiling panels. This work requires a whole church temporary scaffold cover and internal birdcage scaffolding. Upon completion of the timber repairs the roof must be re-covered with new felt, battens and tiles (re-using old tiles where possible).
