St Ignatius Church, Ordsall, Salford Roof Truss and Damp Repairs

Capital funding is sought to make St Ignatius Church safe, dry, and suitable for year-round use as a community hub. The scope of works includes repairing and strengthening decayed timber roof trusses; renewing defective roof timbers, fixings, and selected coverings; treating wet and dry rot; overhauling rainwater goods; lime-mortar repointing; and targeted damp-proofing and ventilation to prevent further moisture ingress.
These essential fabric repairs will stabilise the building, safeguard its heritage value, and enable reopening of the main nave for community programmes such as HAF clubs, ESOL classes, job club, wellbeing activities, and cultural events, benefiting over 15,000 local residents annually.

Completion will unlock long-term, inclusive community use.
