St James Church, Moss Side, Manchester – Community Space

This project is for the extension of the church building to include a much need community cafe / meeting space. It would connect to the existing church space to create a single large room when needed. The design includes external meeting space and important environmental elements.

The need for community facilities in Moss Side is great. It is the intension to meet those needs by offering a useful building as a home to a variety of social enterprises, groups and projects. Social isolation and ethnic segregation would continue without this work. This extra space would strengthen community.
