St James City Farm – Gloucester

The farm was originally established by Gloucester City Council in the late 1990s. They were intending on closing it down but GymNation a local community charity took over it instead. We are trying to improve the facilities, much of which requires replacing or developing, including some new changes. We have an established group of young volunteers who come in on a rota each day and others waiting to enrol. Improvements include things such as revamping the classroom (painting/shelving/work surfaces), revamping the duck pond, building a new rabbit warren so that the public can see better and the animals have more freedom.
