St John the Evangelist - Replacement Heating System

The LTCS funds will enable the replacement and upgrading of the church heating to provide an energy efficient, economic system. The current heating system, originally Victorian, but modified in the 1950’s has been condemned as only 25% efficient with concerns regarding fume leakage and asbestos. The intension is to replace the oil fired boiler with a gas fired system, using the current heating ducts. This facilitates removal of the oil tanks, thus complying with current legislation regarding storage of heating oil beneath a public meeting place
