St. John’s Community Development Project Phase 2

The aim is to serve the whole community, with the emphasis on inclusion, by opening up a large underused Church building to provide a high quality, accessible centre with affordable good facilities available all week. This will:
1. Provide a high quality flexible and affordable community facility available to groups within the local and wider community, especially those working with the vulnerable or disadvantaged
2. Enable groups working with youth, performing arts and people with mental health needs to widen participation through sustained provision of affordable meeting space.
3. Meet some of the existing need for community space locally for groups who cannot afford commercial rates.
Phase 2 is the renewal of the main Church area by the replacement of pews with chairs and a new heating system.
