St John’s Parish Church

St John’s Church in Longhirst, Northumberland provides religious services for the community of Longhirst together with baptismal, wedding and funderal services and contributes significantly to all the activities that go on in the village including the youth club, the luncheon club, various sports clubs and the running of the village hall. Over the past century or so, the elements have caused damage to the north facing windows and surrounding stonework and they need repairing. Also there is a redundant chimney stack on the vestry roof which now has a sapling tree growing out of it and needs to be removed and the chimney capped.
