St Leonard’s Open Spaces Project, Clent PCC, Clent, Nr Stourbridge, West Midlands

The aim of this project is to create multi-functional ‘Open Spaces’ inside the Grade II* listed church of St Leonards in Clent that will enable more people, especially families with young children, to enjoy worship together, but equally importantly is the facilitation of wider community use of the church. The space will be usable for children’s clubs, musical/cultural/drama events, community meetings and wheelchair users. The plans involves opening up the South and North Aisles, altering floor levels to improve accessibility, and creating a dedicated, comfortable and convenient seating and play area with new carpeting suitable for babies and toddlers and dedicated storage and equipment for children’s activities. The project will also involve improved/renewed lighting and heating in the church entrance and also the newly created spaces (the Family Area and the Music Area).
