St Leonards Priory

This project aims transform the site of St. Leonard’s Priory Park from a neglected wasteland of anit-social behaviour to a community run park providing green space and biodiversity. Located in a deprived community in Tower Hamlets, East London, WEN has been engaging and consulting the local community to develop plans for the site. Supporting the new Friends of St. Leonard’s group of local residents this project will deliver on key The area is deprived of green space this project will improve biodiversity and further develop the communities relationships with one another and their environment. Green spaces promote community cohesion, positive impacts on physical and mental health, and countless environmental benefits, particularly limiting exposure to air pollution next to a main road. We hope that by increasing community engagement with this long disused green space creates new, meaningful relationships between local residents and the environment.
