St Martin’s Church, Sandford St Martin – Adaption to Tower Roof Outlet

During the renewal of the material on the North Aisle roof in August 2014 it was discovered the the underlying boards were rotton due to the long-term ingress of rainwater pouring from an outlet on the Tower above. The Architect has recommended that the existing outlet be blocked and a new outlet on the east wall be constructed, pouring into a downpipe on to the Nave roof, and from there via the existing downpipe on to the external drainage system.
