St Mary The Virgin Church

St Mary The Virgin Church is Church of England, covered under the Diocese of Northumberland.
The current church was built approx. 150 years ago, it is a Victorian church that needed upgrading internally to bring it up to modern standards. It is also necessary to carry out urgent repairs which English Heritage has identified to the exterior of the church. Works will include replacement of rusted iron saddlebars to window, replacement of post-war UPVC rainwater goods with cast-iron to match the original. Completion of the works will ensure that the building is waterproof, a major problem in the past and that corosion to the stonework will be halted and the rainwater goods will be more in keeping with the age of the church.
