St Mary’s Church Damp Improvement Work

St Mary’s Church Southwick houses a very important monument by L.F.Roubiliac, repairs are required to the monument. The group must rectify the damp issues within the church building. The issues with damp were identified during a conservation report carried out on the monument, but have also been identified in our Quinquennial report. Work will include repairs to the exterior of the building as well as some internal work. The work we are initially looking to undertake is to remedy the damp problem on the north wall of the chancel which houses the Lynn Monument (c18th marble sculpture).
