St Mary’s Church - Restoration

The church became redundant in the 1994 when structural problems developed in the walls and roof and the causes of the defects were wrongly identified. The interior of the abandoned church suffered severe deterioration caused largely by rainwater leaking through the roof. The causes of the structural defects have been correctly identified and an initial programme of building works has addressed problems in the roof and secured the building against the elements. The current project will complete the repairs and restore the interior of the building to a point where it can be brought back into use as a place of worship.
